I’ve been drawing since before I can remember, and the subject that always intrigued me most was faces. Despite hearing that portraiture was one of the most difficult forms of art, I’ve been persistent in improving my skills for over ten years. Though mostly self-taught, I received outstanding instruction from one of my high school art teachers, Art Palacios, who opened my eyes to all the subtle details and nuances that can turn a good portrait into a realistic one. I’ve continued to study books and other artists’ work and try to apply everything I learn to new projects.
